Summary: The lead character, whom the film is named after, is a solid black inky figure with a fountain pen. His world is exclusively black and white until red ink starts appearing. These red creations are all destructive: fires, tigers, lava, etc. Blot obviously wants to eliminate these threats and their source, and begins battling a red inky being similar to himself. He later sneaks a peak of his enemy trying to create pleasant things in his red ink like roses and cardinals, but they go wrong and accidentally become dangerous fires and dragons. Blot begins to understand this red character is not a threat, and embraces change and color in his former dull world. It is a story that can be applied to many circumstances: it is human nature to be unaccepting of things we're not used to until we gain a deeper understanding and learn to appreciate our differences.
